Pandas in China

It's daytime in China.....breakfast is over.....and in the Panda preserve it's naptime.  I never get tired of seeing these beautiful creatures.  This is a screen capture from a live camera feed:

Yeah, the wife and I love Ustream and other live Nature cameras.  We saw Nina, an Orangutan in a South African preserve give birth on UStream.  It was fascinating.  I actually went into work late because it was like 4 AM when I finally went to bed.  These cams are awesome and really make the world a bit smaller.

LOL.    Yes those Red Pandas are gorgeous little creatures.  I think we have seen some in a zoo but I cannot remember if it was the one in Winnipeg, Canada or if it was at the National Zoo in D.C.    I definitely remember my wife and I visiting the Nat. Zoo back in the late 1970's.  We saw the Giant Pandas there.  One was named Ling Ling.  Don't remember the name of the other one.  Naturally my little black cloud was following us and both of them were napping and completelyl ignoring each other AND the humans peering at them.   I took a look at the Panda Cam at the San Diego Zoo but I think it is there that the female has a new tiny baby and the main indoor Panda area is closed to the public for now so as not to disturb mom and newborn.  Worth taking a look on line though.  Might get a glance at the two of them.

I happened to top by the Chinese Panda web site a little while ago.  Morning breakfast time there.  Some of the Pandas were having a real bamboo breakfast party:
