Comet ISON rapidly brightens!

What Phil (HPMSRM), myself and many others have been waiting for!  The comet that may be the big one (or a big dud) has brightened to almost named eye levels!  It will reach the sun by Thanksgiving and if it survives, it could be a huge deal, in early December.  Cool!

Thanks Dave.   I wonder if dawn or sunset offers the best chance to see it.  Maybe I should try dawn because we have pretty much open countryside to the east of us.  Looking west is often hampered by smoggy skies from the city.  I would love to spot it.

Not too long ago I read a crazy post from an individual who had used his/her photo editing software to manipulate the image of Ison until it appeared that there were two bright spots at the core of the comet....instead of the usual single bright area.  He speculated that there might be more to Ison than the public is being told.  Another conspiracy theorist I guess.    Maybe it's a huge space ship with a whole civilization of extra-terrestrials aboard?    See?...all ready for some solar rays.

Sorry.  I got a double post with identical content.  But there is no option for the author to remove a post so I handled it this way by just deleting the content.    Didn't we used to be able to delete a post completely???

Dawn, to the east (Mr. Obvious, here, lol), per Spaceweather.com.  This comet has two tails, apparently.

Guess I'm going to have to set my alarm and get and going before sunrise.  Hard for me to do these days.  Comet watchers have quite a feast these days don't they.   Last I counted there are 4 of them out there at various stages of visibility.

ISON died!  No wait, ISON lives!  Apparently the sun caused much of the head to disintegrate BUT there is a huge tail left.  Whether it brightens enough to be the big astro event of the century is still being debated.

Looks like Ison got pretty well fried by our sun.   Here is the video of the passage and then you click on "see more" to get the current information:
