We would like to thank you and recognize your service.

The AT&T Community Forums would like to thank you for your service.

We hope that the Military Neighborhood will help you find information on discounts for Military members, Veterans and their family members and how to suspend your service for deployment. It will also offer access to information on programs that AT&T is proud to participate in thanking our heroes – including Cell Phones for Soldiers, Operation Phone Home & more.

We’d also like to show thanks to our Military personnel who have vowed to protect and serve our country by recognizing your service on The AT&T Community Forums. If you would like to do so, you can now update your AT&T Community Forums Profile to display your Military service status.

If you would like to add your Military service status to your AT&T Community Forums Profile, on your Desktop or Mobile device:

  1. Go to My settings, by clicking on your profile avatar (found in the top-right corner of the Forums).

  2. Scroll to the bottom of your Personal Information page.
  3. At the Military service status option, choose from the available service statuses:

  4. Click Save.
  5. When you go to your Profile page, you will see a new Military badge, to the right of your Forum ID.
When someone mouses over this badge, it will display your Military service status.

Having a terrible experience with the military veteran discount.  Is there someone I can talk with about this?

Re: We would like to thank you and recognize your service.

There needs to be other options for military service. The only two currently shown are active and retired. The vast majority of servicemembers do not stay in the military until retirement and there are millions of US who are no longer in active in the military, but we sure as heck are Veterans. Please, strongly consider added other options as I was actually fairly upset that I wasn't able to indicate my status. Thanks!

@Splenda58 Add other options to what? Veterans are eligible for the military discount. You just need to provide the appropriate documentation to verify your veteran status. However, if you are getting the employee discount, why would you want the veteran discount?

@sandblaster  i think what he was talking about was the badge next to his name like your ace badge  only had 2 options retired or active, however in the eyes of most an honorable discharge is considered retired

@Splenda58,

Thank you, so much, for taking the time to provide feedback and for the recommendation.

As of this morning, the Military service status has been updated to include 'Veteran', in addition to 'Active' and 'Retired':

We really appreciate your recommendation and we thank you for your service!

Yes, I was addressing the badge. I don't consider myself as retired from military service as I only served 5 years instead of 20,etc. However, I appreciate your understanding of what my concern was.
