Re: hate directv !! want u-verse back!!

Uverse, Directv, and the new DirectvNOW are 3 seperate services with seperate agreements even though AT&T owns them at this point. Intro promotions with Directv come with a 24 month agreement which is valued as $20 for each month remaining. So if you were quoted a $420 early cancelation fee that should mean you have 21 months left from when you started.

However, what is the concern you have with Directv? If you would post details of the issue, we as other cusotmers might be able to help, or provide some additional info to point you in the direction of a better experience. Whatever you decide, hope all goes well for you.

Re: hate directv !! want u-verse back!!

well for one thing( there are more) the on demand that you can start from the beginning of the show we can't use because you have to have 2 Mbps it says were too slow I'm on the 18 Mbps now max were I live! it doesn't have the channels it says because a quarter of them are cooking shows or home shopping networks! every time it rains or storms & the wind blows or gets cloudy or the sun comes out too bright it goes out! just joking about the last one, charter gives you 30 days to see if you like it, why not att or DirecTV do this? I've been with them for over 20 years how about a break no way! I told them I hated it within 3 days!

Re: hate directv !! want u-verse back!!

What model boxes do you have?

How are you connected to the internet?

You are subscribed to a speed of up to 18Mbps, but have you done a speed test to verify the average speed comming through?

You say you are not getting the channels it says. What channels do you mean? What package are you in?

If only light clouds or rain are affecting the signal, this most likely would be an alignment issue. Directv has 90 days from having a tech out as a worry free gurantee so I would give them a call about the signal issue so they can send a tech out to verify the alignment and make sure outside connections are secure.

Directv for over 20 years has had a 24hr window to cancel service before the agreement is secured in. I cannot say why they do not go longer.

Re: hate directv !! want u-verse back!!

ECF just means Early Cancelation Fee, or Early Termination Fee (ETF). Simply put, you start Directv with a 24 month agreement. You cancel/terminate service before the end of that agreement, it is valued at $20 for each month remaining on service. Upgrades of equipment also come with a 24 month agreement. Move orders come with 12 month (unless upgrade as well) and some promotional discounts may come with a 12/24 month agreement depending on exact special. Agent informs you as well as the email confirmation you receive. Signing off on tech handheld has it as well.
