I traded in my Note 9 to ATT in January for the S21 Plus. Is there a way voicemails can be recovered from that device? I thought maybe I could access them on my new device if they weren't deleted.

Hello @, we do understand how important your voicemails can be.

With Basic Voicemail, the messages are usually deleted within 14 days without warning. You can listen to the message to save it for an additional 14 days.

If you are using Visual Voicemail they are stored for 30 days. Messages older than 30 days are not stored in memory and can be permanently deleted during SIM, device, or plan changes.

If you did not back up your device before transferring information to the new device, there is no way to back and retrieve the voicemails.

Hopefully this information answers your question.

This 8 year old topic is sure getting a lot of posting.  @ElRon1969 I suggest you open your own topic to address your issue and open it in the wireless forum, not the home phone forum.  I'm closing this topic to further posting.
