I just switched from DSL to U-verse. Will I recieve a new modem or will DSL modem & routers work once I switch over?

If you now have Uverse TV, and Internet service you will be getting a new RG (Residential Gateway). The RG decodes the internet packets and then sent to the STBs.

Yes, you'll need a new modem.
Uverse uses VDSL (very high bitrate DSL) technology which is different from regular DSL which runs on ADSL (assymetric DSL).
Even if your Uverse subscription is only for internet.
