galaxy s8 dqa fix?

I'm getting constant dqa stopped messages on my new galaxy s8 plus. i know samsung has rolled out a fix for this but it doesn't appear to be available through at&t. i check my software update and it shows up to date. When is at&t going to roll out the fix for this issue? it's really annoying

Hi @aladale,

I wish we had a better answer, but currently @GLIMMERMAN76's response is correct.  The hope is that Samsung will be able to put out a software update in the future to address this issue, but as of now, the only thing that is resolving it is the factory reset.

Here are the steps:

  1. Note that this step will delete all user information from your device, so we strongly recommend backing up your device first.
  2. Power off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Bixby key + Volume Up + Power buttons
  4. Release the buttons when Android system recovery is displayed.
    • The user will see a teal screen with an animated Android while recovery boosts.
  5. Use the volume up/down button to highlight Wipe data/factory reset and press the power button to select.
  6. Use the volume up/down button to highlight Reboot System Now and press the power button to select.
  7. The device will reboot to the Android system and prompt the user for their previously entered Google account information.

I know this isn't the ideal solution, and we'll update the community as soon as we know more.

@aladale

actually from what I have seen samsung still does not know what is causing the problem.  I have a s8+ for both tmo and ATT and have not had this.  The wife has a att s8 with no problems either.

you can go to forget wifi and then log into wifi again.  and that should clear it up.  Here this is a tried fix I found and it does make since....

To permanently fix this "DQA keeps stopping" from popping up, go into your "Settings", open up your "Application Manager", in the top right corner is the options drop down menu (I think it is the 3 dots), turn on "Show System Apps". Now scroll down to "Wi-Fi Direct" and open its "Storage". "Clear Data" and the problem is solved!

Your recommendation doesn't work.

@Papita

then you would need to factory reset the phone.

I am pretty sure SAMSUNG knows what's going on since the fix has been rolled out for all other carriers except ATT.

Just don't use WiFi until you get fix. or Factory reset if you cannot wait.

Easiest fix, verified with 2 phones, go to settings/device maintenance/ battery
Select Mid then customize, turn off background network usage.

This stops the DQA message from annoying you until at&t gets their version of a fix.
