Usage Manager

Samsung S7 Edge

Had a large update today, 6/10/2018 and now the usage manger app is gone. What is the reason, and how do I get it back.

Same! Just finished updating my S7E and found it was gone. It was definitely very helpful so I hope there's a way to get it back. Especially having the widget so convenient on the home screen.

Hello @anderj,

Thank you for your question! I am sorry to hear this App is no longer on your device. I would like to provide information!

The last update per our Device Support Tool here is the new Oreo update. After a big update there are a few Apps which may have been deleted. You can search for 3rd party Apps in the Play Store for similar options as the Usage Manager.

I apologize the inconvenience this may have caused!

Ok, Linda, who's to blame for Usage Manager App removal? AT&T or Samsung? If it's the latter, how is the best way to complain?

Thx!!

AT&T has now removed all easily accessible ways to turn off Mobile Data. First, they took the toggle off our notification bar, and now they remove the app that allows us to toggle it off.

It's available on other carrier's versions of Oreo/TouchWiz, so one can only presume it stems from pure greed. AT&T assumes if they make it more difficult to turn Mobile Data off, the average user won't bother going into the settings to do so every time, so that's more data and overage charges for them. Pitiful.

@ryanearwood there are completely free apps that toggle data off and on at the push of an icon on your screen.

No, there is not. Not without root at least. Before Kit Kat you could use a
third-party app to toggle mobile data, but now the best you can do is have
an app point you to the mobile data settings (like MZ Mobile Data Switch)
I've even tried to edit this ina SQL Editor, and mobile data cannot be
directly toggled without root on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7.
