There is a method on Samsung phones without a different SIM card.

open the phone dialer

Type.    #7465625*638*#

the space to enter unlock code will pop up.

Carefully enter the code.

Hi @Charleyred!

That’s correct! Since you’re able to use the phone with another carrier or internationally with a foreign SIM card, it will require using another SIM card other than the one that is currently activated in your phone and registered to your account.

If you have another SIM card that is either not in use, or through a family member or friend not registered with AT&T, you can simply insert that SIM card into the phone and complete the unlock process. No need to worry about messing up anything on the other SIM card, the unlock is aligned for the IMEI number of the phone.

Hope that helps out! If you’re needing a new SIM card to complete the unlock, you can go into any AT&T Corporate store location for one free of charge.

Have a wonderful weekend!

DA AT&T.   It means you need another carrier Sim card not a new AT&T Card tyo Unlock.  How dumb some are here.   Get a NEW T-Mobile sim and put it phone to unlock then shut down and put your AT&T card back in phone.  Unless lizdance40 method above works.

Hey lizdance40 advice really works. Did exactly what they said on my samsung note 4 & it worked. So you might want to try this method first.

Glad it worked for you, can't take all the credit

The thanks goes to some guy on YouTube. LOL.  I found his video by accident.  He has removed it, so I'm glad I recorded his info in notes.

The first two unlocks I did, I went to a T-mobile store and one of the employees was good enough to use his own SIM to unlock my phone.    I have since unlocked several Samsung phones with this method.

It only works on Samsung phones.  Other brands either have different codes, or no code option.
