Unlock request denied
My sister gave me her Samsung s8+ phone. My unlock request was denied because it’s been inactive for over 30 days. How can I unlock it going forward?

Hello @Socalnik
Let us set you on the right track of unlocking your device!
In order to have the device unlocked, it requires 60 days of postpaid or 6 months of prepaid service with no past due balance on the account. Also, the device’s service commitments and installment plans must be completed, and all early termination fees are paid in full.
Please review our previous forum post Things to Know: Unlocking Your Device for more information on unlock eligibility requirements.
It is also recommended to contact the original owner of the device to submit the unlock request on your behalf.
We hope this information helps, and thank you for reaching out the community!

We have a similar issue. Our phone has been out of service for four years. We purchased a new phone to take its place, on the same AT&T account. The IMEI # is correct. Is there any reason this can't be unlocked? Thanks~
