Spam Text Messages

Is there a way to block spam text messages that do not show a phone number? The messages are sent as multimedia messages.

Thanks for the info. However, that did not stop the spam multimedia text messages that I am receiving. There is no phone number associated with the message so the features to block a number do not work. I'll check into a third party option.

I am getting robo spam text and there is no number associated with them and there is no option to block the number and I cannot forward the text and note that it's SPAM.  What do you do? How do I stop this?  This is ridiculous!!  It will not stop.

Did you find a 3rd party option? I have not... I have the same problem, plus even the spam that does come from an actual number, comes from a different number every time, so blocking the number does no good. I used to be able to block "phrases" on my S8 (which worked great), but with the v9 Pie update, that has been removed... I have read that Verizon allows you to block texts from email addresses from your account online, which would help with that part of the spam issue.

The easy answer is to bring back phrase blocking, but I don't know if that was an AT&T or Samsung issue...

Is AT&T going to do anything about blocking email addresses from sending adult solicitation spam to your phone? They are doing this by grabbing phone number sequences and texting them all from an email site. All they have to do is use excel sheet to generate a series of phone numbers in a single swipe, then copy, paste...

I am receiving daily SMS messages (4 or 5 per day) sent to my phone via SMS from a gmail account offering (Edited per community guidelines) services. How can I block this spam? The gmails change daily. It is ridiculous that there is no way to stop this. For example just two emails received on SMS were from following addresses:

[email scrubbed]

[email scrubbed]

There has to be some way to stop this.

I keep receiving unwanted texts from this CBD Oil company. I've never asked for information and am on the no-call list. I've received over 40 texts this month, 5 this morning, with this message: "NEWS UPDATE! Robert Take 2 of these Gummy Bears to take the eduge off of a rough week. Full details here... jug3.pw/6zhhxp9NUx" They text at all times of day...7:11 am this Saturday morning, 11:45 pm on a weeknight. There is no opt out option, no reply STOP and there is no unsubscribe option on their website. They are clearly in violation of the law, but there doesn't seem to be anyone interested in enforcing the law. I often work late...last night until 3 am and getting awakened at 7:00 am is a major problem. I've taken the following steps:

1. Report to my RoboKill app.

2. Contacted the company by phone 6 times, each one they ensured me the texts would stop, but they just start again. One time they tried to tell me the texts weren't coming from their company even though the link takes you to their webpage with their phone number and their ordering information.

3. I've reported it to my carrier (7726) at least 30 times.

4. I've filed numerous complaints with the Federal Trade Commission. No response.

5. I've even contacted online attorneys that advertise in dealing with this sort of thing, but none are interested in taking my case.

Is there anyone else experiencing this issue, and if so, what did you do to stop it.

Customdrills - please post any updates to your dilemma. I, too am receiving text spam without phone numbers way too often and spent hours trying to find a way to stop them with no luck.

This is getting so ridiculous. I get multiple messages most days, all similarly addressed to 20+ contacts, with an adult site link. PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP!!!! Just like any other IT technology requiring security, AT&T needs to find a way to filter these, regardless of sender or text. They should be able to monitor habit of these senders and address the issue.

Hello @lacymarie,

We can definitely assist you with reporting these unwanted text messages.

When you report the messages, it will help us identify the offenders and block them.

Please forward the text messages that were sent from this phone number to 7726.

You'll receive a reply, then you can respond with the phone number that you received the spam message from.

Once you've forwarded the message to us, there is no further action that needs to be taken.

Hope this helps!

I keep getting messages about an “overcharge” that I can resolve with a phone call, which of course I didn’t do….this has now happened 3 times.
