Samsung S8 mobile data issues

I just got my new S8. It ran well for one day. Now it keeps dropping the 4G LTE mobile data. I can't use internet or text message when this happens. I will reboot and it comes back for a bit then drops again. Any suggestions?

Hello @WYPharmD,

Welcome to the AT&T Community Forums.  The S8 is a great new phone but I can understand how troubling it is when your brand new device isn’t working correctly. I will be able to help you with this.

Can you please try resetting the network.  To do this go to Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset > Reset settings. This will clear out any saved passwords, but will help refresh the connection.

If the issue persists, please visit our Troubleshoot & Resolve tool.  Make sure the correct make & model is selected, and then choose Service for the issue.  This will run you through a series of troubleshooting steps.

If it is within 14 days of purchase, it does qualify for an exchange.  For more information on our return policy please go here.

I hope this information helps and please have a fantastic rest of your day!

Hello @Erock1359,

I’m sorry to hear you are having the same issue.  I would be happy to help you find the reset network settings.

If you set your phone up in Easy you will need to change it to standard to be able to reset the network settings.  To do this please Settings > Easy Mode > Standard Mode > Apply

When you are in Standard Mode you should be able to find the reset network option.  If you have any further questions please send us a private message to @ATTMobilityCare.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I got a replacement phone on Friday 4-28. It worked well for 1 day again. Now I am having to restart it again to get 4g back. Any thought as to how to fix this problem? Have others complained of this issue?

Hello @WYPharmD,

Thank you for reaching back out.  I’m sorry to hear you are still having issues with getting a 4G LTE connection.  I would be happy to further assist.

After researching, I have not found any other instances for the Galaxy S8 having issues with cellular connections.  I would like to look further into this issue, and will be sending you a private message to your Forums Inbox.

I look forward to hearing from you and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

I'm having the same issue where my 4g drops on my new S8 however it seems to only do it when I'm connected to a Wi-Fi network for too long.

Yes it will you need to save your photos to your memory card. And your contacts to your sim. All downloaded apps will be erased. And all settings but its simple to download your apps again.

Some wifi runs on 3g speeds i wouldnt worry about it unless it drops when your useing your own data, if it does then its because you are picking up off a tower that isnt upgraded to 4g.
