Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge not updating to 8.0

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge by ATT - Unlocked for use on MetroPCS Network

Device Name:  Samsung - SM - G935A

Android Version: 7.0

Android Security Patch: August 1, 2017

HI All - I have an ATT Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge unlocked for use on MetroPCS Network and I cant update the phones software from 7.0 to 8.0.

I bought this from a local wireless dealer - is there any way to update this software OTA?

When I check for updates it says I have the most update to date version.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello @okcomputer.

We can’t speak to how other carriers conduct updates. For AT&T devices, because our updates are delivered over the air, we do require that the device is using an AT&T SIM in the United States on the AT&T network. You may be able to get a software update from the manufacturer, but you would have to contact them to find out how they handle that. Thanks for reaching out for clarification.

Hi, @okcomputer,

Software updates are provided by service carriers. As the device is unlocked from AT&T and used on a different network, you would need to go to your carrier to receive any software updates.

We hope you're having a great week!

Thanks James. I called Metro and they said the opposite: manufacturers
push out updates not svc providers.

Well I am an AT&T customer with an AT&T phone and my software will not update from 6.0 version.  Advise how to update because my phone keeps telling me I am up to date with the software.

And you got no response..exactly..the answers are always ones where the blame fault fix or responsibility lies with the customer and their decisions ( you are off AT&T, out of country ,etc...

But you jump thru all the hoops- you are an active paying customer in the USA ..you get NOTHING but crickets...
