Question about Restrictions on Current S10e promotion

This language is in the terms and conditions of the current Samsung s10e offer for $5/month.

 

"If you cancel service on any other line on your account within 45 days of activating the line under this offer, device credits will stop."

 

I was wanting to move my moms line to another carrier then add a line for a partner. 

 

Would this be possible as long as the line was moved BEFORE adding the promotional line? 

 

It uses the ambiguous term of within instead of before or after is why I'm seeking clarification.

We'd be more than happy to answer this question for you. You can absolutely take advantage of this offer after porting your mother's wireless line over to a different wireless carrier. The installment agreement balance will only be owed if you cancel service on any line on your account within 45 days after activating the new line under this offer. First, good on you for actually reading the fine print.  
I’m sorry, but I disagree the ATTCares interpretation.  “Within 45 days”  is neither before or after, it’s both.  AT&T is trying to close the loop hole, just like T-mobile did.   Porting out or canceling a line and adding a new one is a common way to get around ‘new line’ requirements when you don’t need a new line.  T-mobile expanded it to 90 days.  
  Smart move on AT&T’s part.  Your best bet is keep mom on the plan for 2 months after you add your partner.
