Porting my number
Currently I am on my boyfriends phone plan from at&t and because we have decided to go our separate ways we've been trying to figure out how to get off the shared plan. For financial reasons I am planning to switch over to my parents family plan, at T-Mobile, and hope to keep (port) my number. What all do I need to port my number (and hopefully device which is a Samsung J3 that is already paid off) over? Also, since it's his account do I need to have some form of permission from him to port my number?

@37lola37 Pay the phone off first and then port the number to T-mo, you'll need the passwords or you'll need to do a 3-way phone call.

Get the phone unlocked before you port. My daughter only needed the account number and access pin code to port her number to Verizon. Account password was not needed.
