June 15, 2016 software update Galaxy S6

I performed what I am assuming is the June security update today (6/17) and all went well.

I wanted to see what was included with the update and again, all was well until I got to this part of AT&T's website

  • Security Enhancements for Android: Enforcing SEPF_SECMOBILE-SM_6.0.1_0006 Tue May 31 15:41:35 2016

When I checked my phone it is the same until after SECMOBILE. Mine reads "SECMOBILE_6.0.1_0011 Thu Apr 28 14:11:52 2016".

 

I contacted AT&T chat and was told that it was an internal error and only a factory reset would solve the issue.

Is there a way to redownload this month's update and try again or is the reset my only option

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will provide any further information needed.

More and more of our personal information is handled by our phones and it’s nice knowing that our devices can hold on to our sensitive and personal information as we tend to. I can definitely shine some light on this for you!

 

It appears as if the information you highlighted in the change-log is incorrect. The correct value for “Security Enhancements for Android status” is:

 

Enforcing

SECMOBILE_6.0.1_0011

Thu Apr 28 14:11:52 2016

 

We verified on multiple Galaxy S6s and this is the correct value. So what you have listed on your device is correct. Now upon further research this update did bring the June security patch provided by Google as you said. You can verify this under “Android security patch level”. The previous update (from 05/17) was still under the May security patch. When comparing the software update on your device to the one listed on our website we recommend comparing the build number, as that is unique to each update and no 2 updates will have the same build numbers.

Tim,

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. My wife will be glad to hear that she doesn't have to "rebuild" her phone from scratch.
