How do I change text setting so that people can't see when I read their text?

In one of the recent upgrades, I notice that people who send me text can see when I have read their message.  Can that be changed?

Thanks,

Lauren

Hello @knit4fun49.

We’ve got answers! Try looking in Messages, then tap on the hamburger icon to get to Settings. Select ‘Chat settings’ and under ‘Send read receipt’ turn to ‘Off.’ If you do not have this menu choice, let us know which phone you have so that we can do further research. Thanks for reaching out to us on Forums!

Hi so I’ve been monitoring my child’s incoming and outgoing text for about 3 months as of a month ago the app won’t allow me to see her log of incoming n outgoing text numbers. I called att because I can see my own and my spouse and other 2 children so why won’t it allow me to see hers. The  representative sad because she’s using mobile data so it shows up as mobile data but that’s not true I check the phone every night no settings have been changed. It’s driving me crazy representative said a month ago when I called that it was on their end as well and that give it a couple days it would repair it self but it never did.  There are choices at the top of the screen where you can pick mobile data texting all etc. so I know how to work the app I just don’t understand why it’s blocking only hers does anyone have any ideas .  Thank you
