Duplicate text messages ...
So, my friend and I both have Samsung Galaxy S4s on AT&T, we're not on the same plan, and for the past week or so, our phones will keep repeating sending the past messages that we sent. Just now I literally got the same SINGLE EMOJI sent to me 8 times in a row in perfect 2 minute intervals. He says he doesn't see it, but that sometimes my phone will do the same thing to him. It'll normally stop at like 3 or 4, but sometimes it just keeps going and it's so infuriating. lol. I'm just wondering if there's a reason this is happening? I heard sometimes it's related to shake activated apps like Flashlight so I uninstalled that but it actually happened worse after I did that. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Same thing with my at&t phone. Nearly all text messages sent from an iphone will duplicate. I have received 45 copies of the same message over 3 days. This is happening multiple times per week.

That is exactly what happened on my phone. The text came in multiple parts out of sequence, then only 1 section has been repeated OVER 45 times now in 3 days. I am ready to move to another provider.

My husband and I are having the same problem. I try to send a message but it repeats the same message over, and over. I can type TEST and the same message from 3 days ago is the one that is sent. I see his messages just fine, and i can send messages to other people just fine. It's ONLY between me and him. I'm trying everything you guys mentioned and hope it works.

Hello there @ehynnie!
My apologies for all the duplicate messages you’ve been receiving. Indeed, it doesn’t take very long for this issue to become frustrating, if it continues unabated.
We’ve been investigating this matter for quite some time now, and are looking to collect as many examples as possible for an in-depth case.
If you don’t mind, I would appreciate it if you could message us privately. Please include your name, a good contact number, and some mention of the duplicate text messages.
We would like the opportunity to ask you a few simple questions. This will allow us to collect the information we need to isolate the precise cause of these erroneous duplicate messages.
Thank you for your time, with your help, we will have this matter resolved ASAP!
Enjoy your day!

This has been happening to me lately too. Why? I turned of the sync and cloud backup and we will see if it helps.

I have now received 94 text messages from a friend caring for our dog. This is very annoying, to say the least.

My boss sent out a group text on 8-17-16. I think she might have an iPhone, and I have a LG Expressions phone (not a smart phone). She is also with AT&T. I have been getting that same text about every 4 hours. I have called AT&T customer service about 7 times, and went to get a new sim card. I turned off the phone, and took the battery out for about 5 hours. We reset my phone back to factory, etc. I'm still receiving the text every 4 hours. It's has got very annoying. I'm on a pay-per-text plan, so it's even more annoying!!! PLEASE AT&T fix these problem!!
