ATT addressbook closed in March. If your phone is backing up and syncingit always should be with iCloud

You posted under the Apple section. If you back up your Samsung to either your Samsung or google account, your information is restored through adding those accounts to a new device.
Both the ATT address book and Locker are closed and contents purged. Backup should be to public storage like google photo and google drive.
