Virus on Galaxy S5 G900A
May have a virus. What do I need to do to remove it? Is it necessary to do a reset? How do I backup my apps and text messages?

Factory reset is your best option.
Is Lookout turned on and running? If so, scan with Lookout first to see if it can remove the problem.
Your phone should back up to google account.
Text and calls can be backed up to ATT messages backup and sync. Turn it on in your call or text settings. Backup.
in settings, find backup and reset, Make sure it says backup on, and has your Google account listed. Automatic restore should be on.
If backup was not on, you need to plug in and make sure wifi is available for backup to be performed.

Thanks for your suggestion. As it turns out the strange behavior on my phone was related to the the date being changed to oct. 2014. Not sure how that happened, maybe when it during the time when I was butt dialing everyone. Thought it was a virus, kept taking me to the same website. But now with the correct date everything is fine.
It was a good exercise to go through and backup files and turn on Lookout.
