Unlocking device

I have my AT&T provided unlock code & instructions to unlock my sgh i717. When I put in my non AT&T SIM card I don't receive the prompt to enter the unlock code. All looks the same on my phone except I do get a message saying "SIM card not provisioned for mm#2". Is my phone some how already unlocked?

It sounds like your SIM card is invalid. either expired or not set up.
