Understanding Rugby 4 Wi-Fi

File this one under "Operator Error."

I've set up my Samsung Rugby 4 to connect to a couple of wi-fi locations. However, I can't send or receive voice calls, and can't check for software updates. However, I can pull up the web browswer. So ...

1. Am I doing something wrong?

2. Is this something wi-fi connection doesn't allow?

3. Is this something that's of value on a smart phone (to save on data charges), but not with us old fogeys who primarily use a phone for voice and text?

Thanks in advance.

Wifi calling is not a feature that ATT offers yet, and not with the rugby.

You can however use a few Apps like Skype or Viber for calling over wifi if you can't pick up a cell signal.

With wifi, (and mobile data disabled) you can:

You can check and compose email.

You can login to your current cable TV provider and watch your favorite shows.

You can listen to music, streamed by many services.  Pandora, I heart radio, Spotify.

Calendar, alarm clock, note pad, and from there you have to get creative.

Can the rugby 4 serve as a wifi hotspot?
