Samsung S5 Sporadically Not Downloading MMS messages

My Samsung Galaxy S5 won't receive some MMS messages.  I have made a few settings changes like turning off wifi, de-selecting auto retrieve messages but nothing helps.  This also happened on my previous iphone 4S so not sure its a settings issue...

Hi there! We are aware an issue which may cause texts or MMS to disappear from the messaging application after opting into our AT&T Messages Backup & Sync Service.

We are currently working with Samsung to deliver a software update to correct this behavior. Please see here for more information - Disappearing messages on Samsung smartphones with AT&T Messages Backup & Sync

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Just checking back on this thread.

I'm surprised I still have at&t.  My S6 still won't send mms from anywere near my home.  Very frustrating.  I've had two S5's, a 5S and my new S6 all doing the same thing.  It's not the phone's......it's Jimmy Hoffa.  If they could ever find him, I'm sure he'd clear it up.

Thanks for the offer.  Tier 2 T/S worked with me yet again yesterday.  It seems there is an issue with those on an Mcell trying to send/receive mms.  They said to continue to be patient and a firmware upgrade will push to the Mcell ( like 3 1/2 years isn't being patient already ).  We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath.

So....I have the very same problem while not on the Mcell.....DUH.......I wonder if the firmware upgrade will fix my problem while the Mcell is turned off ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? lol

Without the Mcell, I have a solid one bar on the signal strength.  It's really tough to find a new home with pretty much no cell/data coverage......but I did it........

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and was having a sporadic issue with group texts downloading, especially from iPhones which finally broke completely after an OTA upgrade was pushed over the past weekend.  Creating the new APN fixed my issue.  Thank you very much!

I am having the EXACT same issue. I can't send near my house and I believe this started happening as soon as the Mcell started working which was a couple months after we moved from our old house. I think it definitely has something to do with the Mcell. Hopefully we can find a fix. I will keep you posted and please do the same.

Read, read, read..... there is a whole bunch of VERY knowledgeable folks here, and they offer very good advice. Since I don't really either consider myself an expert nor very knowledgeable, let me put in my two cents worth. In all my posting and "doing" things, my only real regret is this.......I've changed from a new S5, to a refurbished one, to another refurb, to a new IPhone 5S, back to a n S5, then off to the new S6, a refurb S6, another refurb S6 and now to an S6 Active. Many full resets of all, except the Active. My advice: Keep your original phone. It's not your phone. There "could be" issues with the MCell that "may" be fixed, but nobody really knows when or if. Turn off your MCell, go to settings on your phone, then "about device" then "status" and scroll down to "signal strength". If it's 115 or worse ( higher ), chances are you are in a dark spot form local towers. At 121 you drop calls and such. Although the MCell boosts that poor signal, it can only do so much with it. Give it a try and see......I remind you this is only my opinion, and I'm am NOT an expert here by any means. I've just had a lot of experience with this issue over the now almost 4 years in my current location. BTW, just got back from vacation and I had better signal strength on Highway 95 between Hawthorne and Fallon, NV in the middle of the desert.....than I have at my home. That's sad......
