I was included in a group message and I receive notifications every time someone in the group comments. How do I mute or turn off notifications of a group conversation?
Great question regarding group texts! I will be more than happy to assist you.
It does not look like many phone models have this option built in, however there are 3rd party applications which can do this. Keep in mind these are not supported by AT&T and we do not have tutorials on them.
Please let us know what phone model you have, so we can confirm if your device has this option. You can also check in Messages > Settings > Notifications to see if you have an option to mute MMS notifications.
Are you saying that it is necessary to contact EVERYONE in the group after the initial message goes out? If so, what makes you believe that everyone will take the time to remove me from their replies to the group? That solution is not efficient nor likely to work as well as a 'mute conversation' option!

Yes. Group text sent will send to all. If one in the group doesn't remove you, yes, you will still get messages. The "Group". Needs to be redefined with one less person. If the group has 'Bob, Mary, Ted, Bill and Ann', unless the group makes a new group text without Ann, she will continue to get all messages sent from the group that includes her.
BTW not the first time asked. Not a carrier feature. Not a phone fault. It's how group message works.
I had this problem too and couldn't find an answer. BUT (and that's a big but) I finally figured out that you can just go to the google play store and download Verizon's version of messaging. It's under "Verizon Messages." Works great with my AT&T Galaxy S8. It doesn't have the ability to pin a messaging conversation to the top (I love that. Had my wife up there with AT&T) but I'd rather have mute conversation. This way when my family, who are are in their 40s, 50s, and 70s, starts behaving like a bunch of teenage girls and messaging every last picture of what they're eating during my work day, I can just mute them all. This let's me stay on AT&T but use a better messaging solution.

@jckfree1219. You have to ask to be removed from a group conversation.
