Hello @Doubledee49441!

I do apologize you are still having issues enabling this feature. I will be more than happy to continue assisting!

If you are unable to find this option through the Home screen > Apps, located in the lower-right corner of the screen > Settings > Display and wallpaper > Screen rotation switch, please make sure your phone has Standard mode enabled.

If you wish to change the mode, from the Home screen swipe left then tap Settings > tap Easy mode / Standard mode then tap Done to complete the process. Also, make sure you have the portrait settings unlocked. From the main screen, please pull down the status bar > Quick Settings > Auto-rotate; you may need to scroll left to see the option. If you are still unable to find the option, tap Expand to display the full options list.

If the issue persists, I recommend trying Safe Mode to test whether a third-party app is causing trouble. Please complete the following:

  • Turn the device Off
  • Press and hold the Power key past the Samsung Galaxy S7 screen
  • Release the Power key when SAMSUNG appears
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key
  • Continue to hold the volume down key until the device finishes restarting.

After you have completed the steps, please check if the issue you are experiencing still happens. If the problem stops, you can try un-installing apps one at a time to identify which app may be causing issues.

Please let me know if this works for you! Have a nice day!

Good morning @Doubledee49441!

This is a wonderful question! I can definitely help out and share some instructions on how to get your Auto Rotate feature enabled. Let’s get started!

After enabling your Auto Rotate feature, your phone will switch between landscape and portrait when it is held horizontally or vertically. To start, from your Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Display and wallpaper > Screen rotation switch and turn the dial to ON.

Once this is complete, visit your Gallery and try to view your photos! You can check out your Samsung Galaxy S7’s User Manual here to help out with any questions you have may have in the future. It is towards the bottom of the page under More Device Help.

Hope this helps! Have a fantastic day!

Your instructions do not seem accurate, as my Galaxy S7 has separate display and wallpaper settings and neither one has the option you claim is there. I guess I need someone with actual experience rather than someone reading from an out of date book.

I apologize for previous rudeness.  I get upset when my device does not display what I am told by a tech should be there.  I did find the solution in the part about the "Quick Settings".  However, there is no combined display and wallpaper in my settings features; they are separate.  Your first reply stated that they would be one setting.  The difference between what you stated as fact and what I saw on my phone was the reason I perceived that you did not know this phone and was simply stating something you found in a tech book.

Again, I apologize for my rudeness and I would like to thank you for taking the time and effort to find the correct solution for me.

Nice to hear from you again @Doubledee9441!

I totally understand the frustration of your device not working correctly. I just had to do a warranty on mine, so I completely know where you are coming from.

I’m very glad we were able to get this your device performing to your liking. Smiley Happy
