AT&T ADDRESS BOOK

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,

After the current AT&T ADDRESS BOOK is retired will, or is there already, another ADDRESS BOOK APP be made and installed to our phones? If not, would you suggest an alternate ADDRESS BOOK APP? Just curious.

Hello again @gepard!

Thank you for reaching back out! I am sorry to hear you are still receiving this error message.

You may need to restore the phone to see if we can get the message to stop popping up when you access your phone’s contact list. This will remove all data from the phone, just like when you first received it. With the sunset of Address book, your phone may need a fresh start to bypass the error message. You will want to make sure you back up any important pictures, as well as current contacts you don’t want to lose. Our Device Support page has all the steps on how to complete this. Once on the page select the Samsung Rugby III > Tutorials > Backup & restore.

With the phone in Idle mode please select Menu > Settings > Phone > Restore Phone. Press Yes to confirm. If you set up a password on the phone, you will need to enter it in order to complete the restore. If you did not set up a password the default password is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Hope this information helps out! Please don’t hesitate to come back if you have any other questions or concerns!

Hello @Sita36!

Thanks for joining the Community Forums! I would love to answer your questions to make sure your information can transfer between the Galaxy Prime and iPad.

You can easily use Apple’s transfer application to move those important contacts and pictures from your Prime to the iPad. The article gives all the information on what can be moved over, as well as pictures of what the transfer looks like.

Hope this information helps out! Please don’t hesitate to come back if you have any other questions or concerns!

Hi there @Janhale!

I completely understand where you are coming from, always having my contacts available in my smartphone is important to me as well. I know it can be a bit upsetting when there is a change with something you use frequently. I will be charmed to go over some alternative options with you.

I personally love using my Google account; it is able to do everything AT&T Locker can do, and more! Plus a big perk is that you most likely already have Google backing up your contacts and everything on your phone. When you set up a Gmail account when first setting up the device, it is set to automatically back up everything unless you physically turn off the backup option.

I hope this helps you out. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a fantastic day!

@Janhale

Unless you have a basic phone, you should be using google as the default to sync and save your contacts and other data as well.

This is especially true if you want to access your contacts on multiple devices.

I suspect you may have a mix up. Address book and at&t address book are not the same thing. You will still have your contacts in your phone.

Hello @mesiemen!

I completely understand your concern with backing up contacts since Address Book is being removed.

Depending on the type of phone you have, if it has an option for an SD card, you can use this to back up information such as contacts and pictures. Some phones also have the option to back up contacts to the SIM card.

You can check to see if your phone has this option with our Device Support page. Once you reach the page, please select the make/model of your device > Tutorials > Contacts & calendar > Contacts. If the phone is capable of backing up to the SIM card, you should see the steps within this area.

You can still login to AT&T Address Book to export your contacts to your computer so you don’t lose anything important.

Hope this helps out! Please don’t hesitate to come back if you have any other questions or concerns!

It's been not free. I don't know about you, but we pay at&t for our service.

There is no such thing as a "free lunch " in the good ole U.S.A. Any service that was in effect when when you signed your contract is in fact a part of that deal. I pay my $325.00 + bill every month and I expect those "free" services to continue as long as I keep my end of the bargain! Just as I expect my free wi fi alongwith my $8.00 cup of coffee at Starbucks.

This is one service I could rely on when my phone is damaged or lost. I guess I'm going to have to find a different service. Screw you AT&T
