How can I speak with a sales rep on the phone about ordering Gigapower?

I am a current AT&T Uverse internet customer interested in upgrading to gigapower (available in my Leander, TX neighborhood) and also potentially switching from DirecTV to Uverse TV service. The uverse sales reps reached by calling the sales line have zero information about gigapower. I have even been told I was wrong and AT&T does not offer such a service, period. One rep even refused to navigate to the AT&T gigapower webpage so that I could show her what I was seeing. As one could imagine, this is a frustrating and somewhat insulting experience for someone to have when they are trying to give you their money while moving service from a competitor.

I have so far been unable to reach anyone that can provide a single piece of useful information about gigapower. I have questions about the service and promotion that go beyond the information provided in FAQ's and community forums.

How can I get in touch with a live human being who is knowledgeable about gigapower and capable of helping me place an order?

I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

"If you find this post helpful and it solved your issue please mark it as a solution.  This will help other forum members locate it and will also let everyone know that it corrected your problem. If they have the same issue they will know how to solve theirs"

As the product is extremely limited and there are 27 call centers in the US plus overseas centers, finding a rep who only deals with Austin or Dallas Giga questions is difficult but Uverse TV is the same in any part of service area.

What is known about Giga requires a fiber connection to home.
If currently have a fiber connection and best speed is 18M Max Plus, you have a BPON ONT that will need to be upgraded to GPON ONT requiring cancelling your existing service and sign up for new service, new install. Uverse does not allow two residential accounts to same address, requiring the cancelation of original service to sign up for new.

Will receive the 589 LEASED RG ($7 per month) but RG fee was being suspended for new GIGA accounts for a limited time. The 589 is a b/g/n 2.4 ghz wireless (no 5ghz dual band) with (4) giga ports and controls IPTV plus VOIP services.

1 year commitment with high ($348) terminated fee if downgrade or cancel before 12 months. Three year promotion guaranteed not including equipment fees, local fees or taxes.

DVR is new 1T HD, maximun 4 HD streams at one time for viewing and/or recording.
Each additional receiver is $8 per month and is subject to annual increases as listed as separate equipment fee not promotion.

Would not expect sales reps to be able to answer specific install questions, need to find local installer for those but generally two techs involved. The outside fiber tech to deal with ONT and fiber connections and a Uverse premise tech from ONT to RG plus all inside wiring.

The system supports a maximum of 8 tvs of which 2 can be wireless (one time charge of $49 each) with remainder requiring either ethernet (preferred) or coax connections (requiring end changes and new coax splitter)

Up to 3 cable runs included, each additional wire run is $55.
Wall fishes, if desired, is extra $$ per wall.

If you want to speak to a GigaPower sales rep, you can call them at 855-632-8209.  This will take you to a sales rep who is trained in info for GigaPower.

Calling this number gave me someone who said you can only order gigapower online. Is there ANY way to get a hold of someone who actually knows what they are talking about?

Earlier I posted responses to most common questions that have been asked.

What are the specific questions? Care to post?
Have you reached out to others in your neighborhood who may have service?
Have you tried sending a PM to Customer Care for response as suggested by BeeBeeSA.

As this is a user based forum, with individuals volunteering of their time and experience, any official response will be thru official channels such as 1-800-288-2020, online chat or PM.

The person that contacted me after PMing customer care told me that they were unable to help with gigapower. However, I was able to call back and this time the person was willing to have a tech come out to check the availability of gigapower services.
