Motorola VAP2500

Hi

I have the  motorola vap 2500 wireless access point  from ATT.  I found that it does have a web configuration interface. But I do not know the login and password. I have tried  all the userid/password combinations out there in the web for motorola devices.  But nothing has worked. Thinking of using hydra at this point.

Btw, I did reset the device as well.

If anybody has any knowledge of how to login to the Motorola VAP 2500,

Thanks

As far as I know the VAP2500 is not a standard access point. It's supposed to be used with the Uverse wireless TV receivers, and should be preconfigured for that purpose.

I don't think there is an actual log in/user ID. If you are connected to your gateway via an Ethernet cable, you should be able to access the VAP2500 user interface by typing it's IP address into your browser. The password for making configuration changes should be printed on the VAP2500 somewhere.

Try:

User: ATTadmin

Password: 2500!VAP

Worth a try... I guess :/.

it is preconfigured. But I want to change the operating channels in 5 GHz.  It does have a web configuration interface.

and the userid and password are not printed on it.

I've also found that resetting the device does not work. I can't find anything online that has the correct default login info. I'm showing 2 wireless receivers connecting when I only have one. I'd like to block the 2nd device or even set mac filters or something for those.

Satanand - did you try Hydra? What did you find out?

Normally I'm fairly caught up with different network tools, but I can't figure out what Hydra is for the life of me.  I know someone used to keep a public list of default passwords, but I can't remember that site either.

Also, I'm not sure if I should start a new thread or just stay here, but other than running a free wireless network scanner, does anyone know of a way to tell what the VAP2500 is using?  2.4ghz, and channel? 5ghz and channel?  Does it broadcast and ID?  I hate not having good documentation or access to the configuration.

Like many people I run a router behind the RG for GigE and 802.11n, and I like to know how my equipment is layed out.

Thanks for any info,

It uses normal 802.11n channels in the 5 Ghz frequency space.  I'm sure it dynamically selects a channel based on conditions.

Thanks JefferMC, it's just too bad they don't provide the current information on the homepage the same as the RG.

The VAP can be seen on inSSIDer. It used 5 GHz with 4x4 N(600 Mbps). It can use the newer 5 GHz channels from what I saw 52+58 and 108+112(Probably more, but I haven't had the chance to see it use more than those others).

It broadcasts with the network name "MotoVAP_xxxxxxxxxxxx"
