Uverse box showing 780p, need 1080p, How do I set up cisco box for output

Just purchased a 60 inch television, screen showing 780p, instead of 1080p, manufacturer says the UVerse box needs to have settings changed to reflect 1080 output.   How do I set the cisco box up?

Use the setting that matches the native resolution of the TV display. If the TV's native pixels are 1920x1080, then choose 1080i. If the TV's native pixels are 1280x720, then choose 720p.

Setting the U-Verse box this way avoids unecessary picture resizes, which can degrade quality.

No need for 1080p, since there are no shows or Ondemand movies and such available. Set for either 1080i or 720p, and your set will take care of the rest to upscale to 1080p.

Personally I would set a LCD to 720p for that size of a set.
