Blocked Box with 103 Unsolicted Messages

On December 3, 2017 I started using the Blocked Messages box for unsolicited and unwanted text messages on my Prepaid Go-phone from AT&T. I thought it was a no brainer that since these text messages were blocked I wouldn't be charged. Wrong.

So recently I disabled text messaging altogether but I'm still being charged for these unsolicited text messages.

I went to the AT&T store where I bought the phone and service to ask them to fix what I consider to be a problem where 1/5 of my charges by AT&T were for 103 unsolicited text messages of the past year. I was told at the store that they weren't able to do anything and said I need to contact customer service. I logged onto the AT&T website where I pay my bill every year and tried to use customer service. I found it to be a useless tool altogether. As I tried to dig deeper I found that the AT&T website started sending me in circles and found myself back to where I started.

So after untold hours of chasing my tale and getting the run around from AT&T employees I need someone to resolve the issue of unsolicited text messages for which I am being charged.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

and AT&T doesn't have anyone I can talk touse a Go-phone to save money but found that blocking messages I was still charged 20 cents per message. That means 1/5 of my GoPhone charges are from these unwanted messages. Recently I disabled messaging all together but I still get charged.

Hello @Idjit.BoB,

We can definitely assist you with putting a stop to these unsolicited text messages. Unwanted calls and texts are annoying. Some might be fraudulent or illegal. We know they're a problem and when you report them, you help us identify the offenders and block them. You can Learn how to report unwanted calls and text messages here. Let us know if this helps.

It is great that I can forward them to 7726, but this does not keep me from being charged. However, I am charged for each unsolicited smashing messages (MMS) even though AT&T can see that they are scam  Each one is different, so it does not good to block them.  I called AT&T and the rep only suggested calling the police and changing my phone number. Really? Changing my phone number will not stop unwanted messages. Any advice? Hopefully this message will provide me with better support than my call to customer service!

I am receiving a new unsolicited text and don't see where AT&T allows me to forward these unsolicited text messages (7726) as another poster has suggested. I can go to the "Report unwanted calls & texts" page - which I did - but there is no phone number associated with the text message (14101000001). I know AT&T doesn't have a real incentive since they continue to collect money from the unsolicited text message.

Since GoPhone users are second class citizens in the AT&T universe where "AT&T Call Protect" is not available where do we go from here?

How about offering a whitelist instead of blacklist to GoPhone users?
