How can I change the Caller ID that appears when I call someone?
I have an att prepaid account and would like to change the call ID that shows up when I call someone. It has always said “unknown” even before I had a prepaid account. How can I make it show my name?

Hello @Pbougeus and thanks for reaching out to the AT&T community for answers!
We definitely understand the importance of having the caller ID on your device.
At this moment, the caller ID feature is not available for prepaid or GoPhone services. At times when making outbound calls, it will appear as "Unknown" or "Wireless Caller" on the recipient's device. We do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
Don't hesitate to reach back to us in the future for any questions, and you have a great weekend!

Are you saying one of your lines on prepaid DOES show caller ID?
Either way, debugging the issues on your previous account is pretty much a non-solvable issue at this point...

Hello there, @Pbougeus!
While Caller ID isn't available for prepaid service, it's possible that experiences with the feature may vary slightly depending on the device.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Sorry, that's a long answer for a yes/no question. I'll reword this, are you saying one of your lines on AT&T prepaid does show Caller NAME ID?
To test this, they MUST call a number that does NOT have them in the contacts.
Here's why: Any caller who calls my cellphone who has their number in my contacts, will show what's in my contacts app; so if I have "doofus" for their name with their number (in my contacts) then that's what pops up, even if they show up as "Fred Smith" when they call landlines with Caller NAME ID.
To be clear, your (the caller) Caller Name ID info at the recipient's end is NOT related to the type of phone you are calling from, it's related to the caller's line/number config and (of course) if the recipient has the ability to see Caller Name ID on their phone.
