Yes. SIM card carries your account and number.
I always assume it’s a smartphone, if it is, use the transfer app. If not, I think you have to get help from a company store.

Assuming the phone is an At&t or compatible phone.
1. Swap the SIM card. If it’s the wrong size, you have to go to a company store for a replacement.
2. Use the mobile transfer app to transfer data between phones.
If your stuck, you have to be more specific.
