WARNING: Dec 2018 Fake Trade In

ATT is completely reneging on its responsibly to pay customers $200 for trading in a smartphone for an s9.   We traded in 2 devices, an s7 and an s5.  It took 6 weeks, with lots of correspondence back and forth, for them to decide to pay the full $200 for the s7 and now they are trying not to pay the s5.   Had I known, I would NOT have "traded" in nor would I have gotten a new device, ESPECIALLY from ATT!    I was going to use the  $400  to pay the ATT cell phone bill (all the taxes and "upgrade" fees).

I am running out or patience so I will probably file a complaint with the FCC as well as the BBB or any other place I could think of that makes sense.

Re: WARNING: Dec 2018 Fake Trade In

Thank you for reaching out to me.
I have been in touch with them in a back and forth email for the past few
weeks. Finally , yesterday, they responded they would indeed give me the
$200 for my s5 that I traded in. They said it would take three weeks to
show up on my promo card (so I could pay my ATT bill). When I see it, I
will be more than happy to follow up here that ATT *finally *lived up to
the deal.

Re: WARNING: Dec 2018 Fake Trade In

Read the offers:  https://tradein.att.com/#/start-a-trade/discover-device-value

key words are “up to”.

The S5 is worth no more than $35.   At&t has no trade in offer for a flat $200.  The “up to” offer is the only one that’s public.

Re: WARNING: Dec 2018 Fake Trade In

You are not referring to the December 2018 promotion. The December
promotion did not say anything about "up to." It said you will be getting
$200 when you trade in a smartphone for a Galaxy s9 or an s9 Note. The "up
to " promotion has been going on for a while and for "up to" I would not
have traded in my phone because I knew it wasn't worth that much in th the
"trade in." I would have kept it for something in house that would give me
a lot more value.

Re: WARNING: Dec 2018 Fake Trade In

I FINALLY received rebate cards totaling the correct amount for the 2 phones I was trading in.    What a shame that I had to go thru this to get the correct amounts. I hope every other ATT customer that had a problem raises a (rightful) fuss about it and gets what they were promised.
