Update device.

If I buy a new AT&T Prepaid phone from Walmart and go to the AT&T Prepaid website and click on my device and click update device and input the new phone's IMEI and sim card number will that update the device associated with my account to the new phone ?

Re: Update device.

@phoxab I'd just move the SIM over if they are the same size.

Re: Update device.

The SIM in the new phone is smaller. When I go to buy a sim kit it makes me add a plan like I'm a new customer. I just want to get a new phone and keep my account that has money on it.

Re: Update device.

You do not want a sim kit.  You go to an ATT store and have them make a sim for your existing account.  They transfer your number and balance over for you.

Re: Update device.

If you already bought a sim kit or a sim came with the new phone, do not activate it online. Either call or go to a store to have it activated with your number.

Re: Update device.

If I go to My Device and update the IMEI and SIM with the numbers from the new phone what would happen ? Would I still need to find an AT&T store ?
