Transfer eSim from iPhone XS Max to IPhone 11 Pro

I will be receiving an iPhone Pro next Friday. Now I have an XS max with an eSim (don’t have the original QR bar code) I would like to transfer the line on an eSim basis to new phone, What would be the recommended procedure, steps?

Thank you for reaching out to us today. We'll be delighted to assist you.

Since you don't have the original QR code, you'll need to get a new eSim QR code from a store and activate it and the new device on the same line. Hope this helps!

Ok, once I get it, can I move eSIM from phone to phone? What’s should be the procedure?

Hello @pjboix,

We can definitely answer that question for you. Once you get the new QR code from an AT&T store, you can scan it to transfer the eSIM to another device. Let us know if this helps.

So just scanning the QR into a new phone will transfer the eSIM from old phone (deactivating it) to the new one?

My question point if the QR gets compromised, any one could transfer my number to another phone just scanning a picture?

@pjboix   Valid concern.  However since it does seem to work, your number may be safe.

I have my originals QR code...   I scanned it.. and says it’s expired.    Now I am stuck waiting on delivery of a new code...  because tech support lied to me and said it would be emailed to me.   Horrible service and if I didn’t need ATT service for work, I would cancel.

Same happened to me, removed eSIM from old phone, waited for about an hour, then tried to scan the QR in new phone and got message it expired. So I had to go to an ATT store and get a new eSIM, after scanning the new QR my line become active on new phone.

QR code once used cannot be transferred. You need to get a new one. Hope this helps.
