My gs6 doesn't update

My gs6 doesn't let me update higher than 5.1 lollipop. But it doesn't have a sd card. Do i need one to update the software? And can i use any sd carrier card just to update?

take the phone to a samsung experience center inside a best buy and have them flash it for you. Are you using ATT as your service provider?

Well i bought this phone from a friend and he took the sd card. It currently doesn't have service but it is with att

SIM CARD not sd card. And you can still take and have it flashed at a best buy.
