Appears to me that some of the LTE Bands require 1700/2100.   How will my mileage be with this phone on the AT&T network?

I’m assuming you mean Sony XZ1 compact.

AT&T uses LTE 2,4,5,12/17 and 30.  It’s missing 30, but it’s not likely you will be depending on a band 30 tower.  Bands 12 and 17 are the same.

Although I might have a follow up for that. I noticed the Pixel 2 is lacking Band 30 also. Does ATT have a resource showing the bands that are being used in the area?

No that is info ATT does not give out to the public... and the FCC stopped updating the tower database that is public facing.
