Just updated my Samsung s6 with a new security patch

My Samsung s6 is no longer charging after a new security patch update. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hello there @Djjazzyv!

I’m sorry to hear you are encountering an issue with your device’s charging after an update. Updating our software should make the device better and more efficient. I’m glad you reached out to us with your concerns, I am more than happy to help!

If the device is malfunctioning after the update, the best steps to take from here are to create a backup and restore your phone. Our Device Support page does a great job at walking you through this process. All you need to do is select your phone by manufacturer and model. Next, please select View All Solutions, and direct your attention to the menu on the left. Click on Backup & restore. Last, select your preferred method of backup.

Once the backup is finished, we can move on to the reset. This will revert your phone to it’s original factory settings, clearing away any issues the update may have caused. Go to Settings, and select the Personal tab. Next, click on Backup and reset. Select Factory data reset > reset device > and delete all. This will clear any software related issues.

I appreciate your time and letting me assist you. Have a great rest of your day!
