How to replace an older LG GU295 with a Moto E4

I will be replacing my older GU 295 with a standard size sim for a Moto E4.  Can I just cut down the sim to nano size and use it in the Moto, or is there something more to be done?  I plan to stay with ATT. I do have a memory card with some pics and such on it that I can use.

I'm not sure if there is any other data in the phone that has to be transferred, or if everything is on the sim and memory card.

BTW, it would be nice to keep the old phone and sim for backup if possible.  If I decide to do that, what would I need to do to transfer all the data to the new phone's new sim and keep the old phone as a backup?

Hello @sprinter33,

I understand you are thinking about cutting your SIM card.  We wish SIM cards were all the same size as this would make things easier.   Let me share some information in regard to this matter.

We do not recommend cutting the SIM card.  When you cut a SIM card there is a good chance it will not correctly fit your device.  This can cause the device to not work correctly.

There is actually no personal data stored on the SIM card.  All your data is stored in the phone’s memory or on your memory card.
