Att oreo update battery drain problem

Samsung s7 edge.  After att update to oreo, immediate battery drain issue.  Went from using phone 6am till 10pm with 25% to 45% at 10pm.  Now battery is below 20% at 5pm.  This after dimming the screen and battery saver actions.

How do I go back to the earlier version that works without the need to recharge during the day?

Hello @Mtsclsjcsmis,

Welcome to the Community Forums! Thank you for reaching out with your battery concerns. I will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

When an update causes issues after being installed, there is a chance something went wrong with the install. I recommend performing a full factory data reset on the device and reinstall it. Here is an article for step – by – step instructions on how to complete this process.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach back out to us. Take care and have a great day!

This is not the answer.  Several people seem to be having battery issues after updating their Samsung S7 devices to Android 8 Oreo.  My device was upgraded without issue and I too have extremely poor battery life after the upgrade.  There is something wrong with the software, not the upgrade process.

So, AT&T...What's the answer?????  Factory reset is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!  In my phone, Android System is eating up my resources by at least 20:1 vs. anything else.  This was not the case before your latest forced upgrade.  So, again, what is the solution?
