Adding a line
Can I use any phone to add a line or does it have to be an at&t phone.i do have a sim card from a previous pay as u go at&t phone that has never been activated can I use that sim card in a smartphone I own and add a line to my account

You can use any AT&T compatible phone, it doesn't have to be branded to AT&T.
If you want to add a gophone to your account you can use the unused gophone sim.

If the account is prepaid... if it’s a postpaid account I’m oretty sure you need a postpaid SIM card.
