3G MICROCELL NOT WORKING

MICRO CELL QUIT WORKING , ONLY SHOWS POWER LIGHT AND THAT IS IT. WILL NOT BOOST PHONE SERVICES AND NOT INTERNET THOUGH THE CELL TOWER. THE POWER ADAPTER IS READING 18 VOLTS DC WITH THE VOLTMETER IT SHOULD READ 12VOLTS. IS THE ADAPTER THE PROBLEM OR THE TOWER GONE BAD

Hello @graveyard,

 

I understand in low coverage areas the importance of a microcell.  I would be happy to assist you with this today.

 

We have a very helpful Troubleshoot and Resolve tool which can assist in fixing many issues.  To start the troubleshooting for a microcell, choose AT&T for the brand, then click on the Other tab, and choose your microcell

 

If the troubleshooting steps do not fix it, the device will need to be replaced.  If it is the black microcell it may still be under warranty and we can do a warranty replacement. 

 

Another option is Wi-Fi calling.  It is what I use in my house as I have a metal roof, and it works amazing.  AT&T currently supports Wi-Fi calling on the following devices:

 

  • iPhone 6 and above
  • Galaxy S5 and above
  • Note 4 and above
  • LG G5 and above
  • LG V10 and V20
  • LG K10, Phoenix 2, G Vista 2

 

We have a great tutorial on how to set up Wi-Fi calling on our Device Support page.  Select the correct make & model, then choose Tutorials > Calling > Wi-Fi calling.

This old 3g microcell tower has see it last days. Nothing works from the troubleshooting site. It only has a green light and does not even connect to the internet at all. I have swap cables and check the power source and everything is good. I guess, I have to buy a new one. Services in this area still has low bars even with a new tower close to us.

My 3G microcell again doesn’t work. I’ve gone through this before. The first microcell lasted about 2 years. This is just over a year old I believe and after all troubleshooting over and over and over again, it’s toast. Needs replacement. I get no reception . I almost need to move to even use my cell phone service. I’m ready to switch service if I have to. I just need cell service.

The 3G light on my Microcell has recently started to flash continuously.  I have tried the troubleshooting directions but no luck
