I need help. I feel like I'm getting the run around from everyone I talk to about this. Digital Life told me I needed to register my alarm system with the local police department. This was interesting to me because I've used multiple alarm companies over the past 10 years and have never had to register it myself; this was always done for me by the alarm company. Anyway, I contacted the City Licensing Dept and they told me I needed to call the Police Dept; he was nice enough to give me the direct line to the person I needed to speak to. However when I spoke to her she informed me that I needed to get a "City Alarm Registration Form" from my alarm company to sign then send it to her. I called Digitial Life BACK and the Customer Service Rep I spoke to told me they don't have such a form. I need to fill out a licensing form from the City Licensing Dept (which is $90!!) and then send it to the Police Dept.
I am at a loss... I don't know who is telling me the right course of action and I'm beyond frustrated. I just want my alarm system to be connected with the Police Dept. Please someone help me.
I've had this issue every single year at the beginning of a new year. I never get an answer from DL, but I just paid my January bill and included on it was $40.00 for my annual permit that was line-stemmed onto my bill. My municipality charges $40.00. Your $90.00 is a whopper. DL is very slow in getting it done for me. Some municipalities require the alarm companies to do all the work and to bill the customer the fee charged by the municipality. For all I know DL keeps my 40 bucks and never registers me. It clearly states under my account that DL will procure the annual permit for me on my behalf and that they will charge the fee, and then submit that fee to my municipality. I've been to every department including the police department, that USED to let the customer obtain his own permit, but in my city that has not been the case fo over a decade. I still think DL simply collects the fee and just lets me assume I have a permit on file. DL customer service is the very worst customer service I have ever come across, bar none. They simply want your monthly money and after that, well, you don't exist.
@Esmond1953 Hello. My apologies for your frustration. I would like to look into this for you to be able to put your mind at ease that we have acquired the permit. Would you please click on my user name, then click "Send PM" and send me a private message with your name, address, account number and best contact number? I will then have a specialist reach out to you directly to discuss and ensure it's resolved. Thank you
