I got a new prepaid AT&T wireless phone. It shows the IMEI and the Serial number in the settings, but shows the phone number is unknown. How do I find out what my number is? I cannot make calls from the phone, and when I call customer service, they ask for my ten digit phone number.
Select a rate plan (Activation code) from the “SIM Card quick start guide for phones”.
From the home screen of the device, enter the Activation Code and ZIP code where you will use your service most, then press the Call icon.
You'll receive a text message with your new phone number and instructions to power off your phone for 10 minutes to complete activation.
After 10 minutes, you're ready to power on the phone and add money to your account.
To activate over the phone, call us at 877.426.0525 for automated instructions. You will need to know your SIM card & IMEI number for activation. Note: Activation will take around 10 minutes to complete. Your IMEI can be found on your phone by tapping Menu > Settings > Phone information. The SIM card number is printed on the SIM card.
