Unlock a device for Central America

Hi there! My brother bought 2 GSM Alcatel devices on black friday and sent them to my sister and me so we can use them here in El Salvador... is there any way that you can provide us an unlock code so we can use them with a local provider? The devices were never and will never be used in the US, so there is no phone number to provide, the only thing I can provide you is the IMEI on both devices.  Thanks!

All AT&T devices must go through the AT&T unlock portal. If your device is eligible, that is where you can get it unlocked.

Hi! Thanks for your answer, my problem is that I have already tried to go
through the AT&T unlock portal, but it doesn´t recognize my IMEI as a valid
one for the AT&T network... so that didn´t work!

So I was expecting to receive some other options... Is there any other
option that you may know ?

Regards

AT&T probably doesn't recognized the IMEI because it was never used on an AT&T account. If the phone was never going to be used on AT&T, it should have been purchased unlocked in the beginning.

There is a possibility that it will not be unlocked.
