Phone itself can be handed over, with or without SIM card, number and balance.
Balance is not transferable.
Are you keeping your number? If so, you port the number out and balance is lost.

I am not keeping the number. If you hand over the phone keeping the same number, the balance doesn't go with it? I would have thought you could just the profile information or something and that would be it. I'm just not sure how to do that.
