Hi, @Mrswilks,
There are a number of third party apps that can help you track a lost phone, but they are by no means required. If you have an Android device and you've added it to your Google account, their Find My Device is automatically on. They have steps to help you find, lock, or erase a lost Android. If your phone is an Apple, you need to have Find My iPhone enabled. Whether you do or don't, Apple has tips and steps for what to do if your device is lost or stolen.
