Factory reset my at&t trek tablet

I bought a tablet from my brother in law and he don't know the password or his e mail adress that was on it now it's asking me for a synced e mail address and I have no idea what it is

Hi there @Davidreece!

 

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with your new tablet. These situations can always be frustrating, especially when you just acquired the device! It sounds like the tablet may be locked by Factory Reset Protection. This is a security feature on Android devices.

 

The best way to figure out the proper email/password is to work with your brother-in-law. He will need to review any google accounts he has, and check to see which one is associated with the AT&T Trek tablet he gave you.

 

If he logs into any given google account on the Android Device Manager, he should be able to see if it has be previously synced or not (it will have a list of all devices associated to the account).
