Email login failed for yahoo on LG B470

Hi,
I tried logging in to my emails on my phone and it keeps saying login failed. I use the same username and password on my laptop and it works. Does anyone have any idea why it would fail? It continues to setup my emails and when I try sending an email it's stuck in outbox.

Hi @Jcha90!

As someone who relies on his phone to constantly check emails, I know how important this is. I will glad to help you out!

That was a great idea to try the login on your laptop to see if it works. That way, we can eliminate the possibility of you not remembering the password. Now, when you try to login, do you get a specific error message when it fails?

In cases like this, the easiest thing to do is to delete the current email configuration and set it up again. At least you know then that you are starting from scratch just in case something became corrupted.

Check out the Device How To page where you can learn how to set up the email step by step. Although, you may have done it right, I would go over the steps just to make sure nothing was missed. Please go to the Device Support page. Select your phone make and model. Click on “View All Solutions”. Under Device Topics on the left side, click on “Email & Messaging” and then select “Setup Personal Email”.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions!

Similar thing is happening for me. For about a week I intermittently get an error of "Sign-in failed". I clear the error and later I will still receive emails. I have tried several times removing the account and setting it up again.
The only account that has the problem is my Bellsouth (att.net) account. My gmail and exchange accounts work fine.
This is happening on my Samsung Galaxy S6 default email app. I even tried setting it up on a loaner iphone and it still happened.
Oh, I can login through a browser just fine.
