AT&T ZTE Z432 SD card storage not working

I recently bought a AT&T ZTE Z432 and installed a 2GB SD card because the internal memory of the phone is lacking. I switched the default storage to the SD card, but the phone seems to still be using its internal storage as the default and the SD card is still empty. How do I fix this?

Hello @rober2et,

I am sorry to hear your phone is not saving information to your microSD Card. I would be happy to help get this corrected!

First, we will want to ensure items are saved to the memory card. Our Device Support page will show how to access the memory settings. You will need to select your Make and Model, then Tutorials > System & Storage > Available Memory.

Not all files are compatible with the microSD Card, photos and voice memos are able to be set default, however some videos and music are not. Voice memos can be automatically saved to the SD Card, while photos will need to be moved from the internal storage to the memory card.

Thank you for reaching out to us; please let us know if you have any further questions! Have a wonderful rest of your day!

I do not tend to store any photos or music on my phone, it was actually getting clogged up with text messages. Is there a way to store texts on the SD card by default?

Hello @Rober2et!

Thanks for your response, I will be glad to help out with your phone’s storage issues!

If your messages are clogging up your device, we can look into backing them up and then removing the messages from your phone to free up space. There are numerous 3rd party applications you can check out. This way you can keep your messages secured and your device running like new.

I apologize text messages are not able to be stored on the SD card, since the application is pre-installed, it will remain on the internal storage of the phone.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for being a part of the Community Forums!
